If you live in Guyana or plan on visiting Magic City’s Rupununi-Brazil tour is an experience you must have.
The Rupununi / Brazil Experience Tour is a 4 day adventure which begins in Georgetown where the bus departs at around 7pm (Usually on a Friday Evening). The tour completes when the bus arrives back in Georgetown the following Tuesday evening at around 11pm. In Total the tour covers 4 days and includes spending 1 night in Lethem and 2 nights in Brazil. Both Lethem and Brazil accommodation includes Breakfast.
The Rupununi / Brazil Experience Begin in Georgetown, Guyana:
Check-in for the tour usually start at around 1:00pm to 6:00pm. The check-in time may change for different tours however our most popular check-in times are 1pm & 3pm. Check-in is usually at a central location which is communicated to persons on the tour via email. Tours usually have 8 to 10 persons, once everyone’s there and on board the journey begins. The Bus departs Georgetown around 7pm heads to Linden and onward to the trail through the jungle.
All along the drive from Linden to Lethem there are many stops for washroom & refreshments.
Day One (1): Kurupukari Crossing 6:00am, First morning on the tour:
After driving from Linden through the night the bus will arrive at the Kurupukari crossing in the early morning hours where it will then wait for the Kurupukari crossing ferry to begin operation, transporting vehicles from one side of the Essequibo River to the other. The crossing usually begins at 6am.
A little after crossing at Kurupukari, the tour reaches to the first official stop, the Iwokrama Canopy Walkway.
This stop usually occurs around 8am of the first morning on the tour(usually Saturday Morning). Participation on the Canopy Walk is encouraged but not compulsory as there are persons that may have a negative reaction to the extreme heights or for any other reason not be interested in this activity. After visiting the Iwokrama Canop Walkway the bus proceeds to Lethem with a few more short stops on the way to accommodate for washroom and refreshments.
Waterfalls Adventure: Upon arriving in Lethem the group grabs lunch after checking into the hotel. After lunch the tour heads to two of the most famous waterfalls in the Rupununi Region: Moco-Moco & Kumu Waterfalls. The Remainder of the afternoon is spent at the waterfalls before returning to the hotel for the the night. Some folks usually grab dinner together on the first night in Lethem while others opt for an early night after a long day of activities.
Day Two (2): To Boa-Vista, Brazil: Day 2 Starts early in Lethem. After breakfast(usually begins at 6am) as the hotel at about 8:30am The group is picked up at the hotel and taken over to the Federal across the Takutu Bridge which connects Guyana and Brazil. At the Federal persons will get their passports checked and stamped before joining the taxi to Boa Vista.
In Boa Vista you’re checked into your hotel where you relax for a little before hitting the streets for some shopping and park hopping.
Day Three (3): The morning of Day 3 (in Boa Vista) starts off quiet with breakfast at the hotel. It’s mostly a Freestyle morning where persons get to complete any Shopping. Some persons choose to just stay at the hotel and relax at the pool. The evening of day 3 the group visits the park and concludes with a group dinner at a recommended restaurant before retiring back to the hotel.
Day Four (4): On the morning of Day 4 the group would checkout of the hotel in Boa-Vista and Return to Bonfim where they first stamp out at the Federal then on to Lethem where we spend an hour or so having a light brunch and doing any last minute Lethem Shopping.
After our pit stop in Lethem the return journey to Georgetown begins. Day of Shopping, park in evening (1st Night in Boa Vista)

Are Meals Included:
Breakfast is included at both the hotels in Lethem & Boa-Vista, Brazil however persons usually walk with monies for buying lunch & dinner. You’ll be touring mostly throughout the tour so there will be many restaurants to choose from and food options to choose from.
What does the Tour Cost/Package include?
The tour cost covers all of the transportation and accommodation throughout your tour. Breakfast is included with your rooms however Lunch & Dinner is not. Persons usually walk with monies for shopping, and eating out (Lunch & Dinner) as we’re most times outdoors and will have may restaurant options. The entrance to the parks is not included. In most cases the cost for entry is $1000 (Moco-Moco Falls & the Parks in Brazil). The cost for participating in the Iwokrama Canopy Walkway is usually $5000 for persons in our group. This cost is not included in your cost as we’ve experienced in some cases persons have heights anxiety and don’t participate, however persons interested in going up on the Iwokrama Canopy Walkway they usually pay individually.
What type of money/currency should I walk with:
The best currency to walk with is Guyanese dollars. In Lethem the tour guide will assist you in changing your Guyanese dollars into Brazilian Reis for using when you go over to Brazil.
